Details: I have never been a visitor to the news editorial column, but what inspired this attempt is the abuse of this privilege by some undeserving elements who just want to be heard rather than make rational judgments to issues of national interest.

A rational but personal sampling of the opinions well meaning Abians over the verdict delivered on the petition filled against Mr.T.Orji by Dee Onyema Ugochukwu by the election petition tribunal had an over whelming majority in its support.

I do not want to join issues with anyone rather to make straight issues bothering on the aforementioned verdict for the benefit of the teeming Nigerian public.

The verdict to me had two faces, while Dee Onyema Ugochukwu saw it as an electoral victory; blue blood Abians rather celebrated their liberation from a government whose foundation was layed on deceit and flagrant abuse of executive powers.

A popular saying that you can deceive some people some times but can not deceive all the people all the time really came to play in Abia state as a government that is so disingenuous would claim to have the support of Abians.

Days are gone when they implore their flashy external appearances to hoodwink the people and using the radio BCA an establishment that’s lacks in wholesome the ethics of broadcasting business to announce their non visible achievements.

Abia state at a point became an enterprise of the Kalu’s, having total disregard for rule of law and due process as he awarded all the juicy contracts to his family members which monies were paid but projects not executed.

Orji Kalu took delivery of equipments imported by the Ogbonnaya Onu’s administration for the state’s Ambassador News Paper, converted them to his personal property to establish his SUN NEWS PAPER and today Ambassador News Paper is history.

These morally bankrupt individuals had their businesses flourished to the detriment of the state establishments which were forced to go under and still come to the public to say they have the state at heart

If only our judiciary system is living up to their challenges, people like Orji Kalu and T.Orji “an accomplice” should have been wallowing in jail instead of the later been shielded by this immunity clause.

I personally got disappointed with certain submissions of some learned lawyers in our society, people like Agbakoba who faulted the verdict, this did not come to some of us as a surprise as we expected anything less, because this is one man who benefited enormously from the treasury of Abia state to the detriment of her citizens.

Orji’s disdain for Dee Onyema dates back to the early days of Onyema serving as the NDDC chairman, when he submitted an alarming proposal through his company “ZEROCK” for the rehabilitation of the highly deplorable Umunwanwa-Umuokpara road.

NDDC’s response to the SOS sent by the people to the commission, saw Orji stepping in as the chief executive of the state and was given the opportunity of bringing a contractor to do the job which he forward his ZEROCK.

The bone of contention now became a reasonable cost of executing the project; Orji in his usual manner submitted a cost that is four times the real cost of executing the project, which Dee Onyema turned down.

He thought he could cow Onyema to accepting such proposal even after a reasonable cost was given to him; he rejected it and prevented NDDC from rehabilitating the road and subsequently Orji’s greed denied the people the opportunity of having NDDC rehabilitate their road.

Dee Onyema as a through breed, even while serving as the NDDC chairman did not compromise rationality, meritocracy and above all prudence, so you don’t paint one black because he didn’t allow you to benefit from an intended corrupt practice.

When people from other states praised and appreciated his nationalistic dispositions, we his people are here trying to tear his frightening profile to shreds, just because of our selfish believes.

T.Orji and his allies are just been discursive, they need to face the main issue and that is the way forward for Abia after a grossly wasted nine years atleast to ameliorate the peoples sufferings a little.

Aba the commercial nerve center of the south east, has suffered high rate decline in patronage resulting from lack of certain infrastructures like accessible roads, drainages and above all security.

Abia state today has the highest rate of unemployment, as touts whom they used to achieve their onslaught against the people during the elections are considered for opportunities over the educated ones, thereby increasing the already high level rate of nuisance in the state.

They have usurped the states meager resources in the bid to launder their already dented image causing more harm to the people.

To the best of my knowledge, Dee Onyema Like he prefers to be addressed is only a representative of the peoples’ mandate as such an attack to his personality is just a misfired arrow from a broken bow.

Democracy been a government of the people by the people and for the people, as practiced in other states and the federation sees Abias case to be in the reverse as mamacracy is visibly practiced.

Mamacracy, government of their mother by their mother and for their mother, saw Orji’s mum been in total control of the state’s administration, and cornering the states resources to build her business empire.

T.Orji shouldn’t take it so personal, he should allow his borrowed crowd to speak for him while well meaning Abians speak for Dee Onyema and we will not be deterred by their traits over our yearnings for change.

Change being a constant factor will not elude Abians, and Abia will only experience change in terms of economic, infrastructural and social development if and only if T.Orji leaves.

I commend the charisma exhibited by members of the tribunal as we expect same at the court of appeal and wish to submit on behalf of well meaning Abians, that our faith in the judiciary is still undoubted
